Amir Aboutalebi, MD, FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Northstar Dermatology in Fort Worth, Texas. He treats patients of all ages and specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Aboutalebi grew up in Coppell, Texas, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Dallas with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. He has the distinction of being a Fulbright Scholar, having investigated the ethical and economic implications of nationalized healthcare in Spain. While in Spain, he devoted much of his free time to volunteering as a First Aid responder for the Red Cross.
Afterward, Dr. Aboutalebi completed medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school, Dr. Aboutalebi completed an internship at Houston Methodist Hospital in Texas before beginning his residency in dermatology at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He trained at many prestigious institutions, including the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Veteran Affairs Hospital, and the Lahey Clinic. During his residency at Harvard, he volunteered his time locally with the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program, as well as internationally with the American Academy of Dermatology’s international program in Botswana.
Dr. Aboutalebi’s clinical interests are varied and range from the treatment of common skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema to the management of complex dermatologic conditions, including blistering disorders and connective tissue disease. He performs full-body examinations with a focus on the prevention and management of skin cancer. In addition to his expertise in medical dermatology, Dr. Aboutalebi offers injectable cosmetic services such as Botox® and fillers.
Dr. Aboutalebi has published multiple articles and has presented at several regional and national conferences. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Texas Dermatological Society, and Texas Medical Association.
Aside from his passion for dermatology, Dr. Aboutalebi’s hobbies include sailing, sketching, cooking, and photography.
